Crypto prop firm rules
Classic 1-Step challenge rules, in plain words.
This page is generated from the published ruleset. The engine that evaluates your account reads the same document, and your account keeps the version it was bought with.
New to the rules? Crypto prop firm rules, explained walks through each one with an example.
01Phase 1
| Rule | What it means | Formula | 10K account |
|---|---|---|---|
| Profit target | Reach 8% profit on the starting balance, measured on closed trades. | balance − B0 ≥ 8% × B0 | $800: a balance of $10,800 |
| Daily loss limit | Equity may not fall below today's floor: the higher of balance and equity at 00:00 UTC, minus 4% of the starting balance. Equal is allowed. | equity ≥ anchor − 4% × B0 | $400 of room; a day opening at $10,000 has its floor at $9,600 |
| Max loss limit | Equity may not fall below the starting balance minus 8%. The floor is static: measured from the starting balance, it never moves. | equity ≥ B0 − 8% × B0 | Floor at $9,200 |
| Minimum trading days | Trade on at least 3 separate UTC days. A day counts once it has one fill. | tradingDays ≥ 3 | 3 days |
| Consistency | Your best day may be at most 40% of the profit. If it is larger, the target rises until it is not. | profit ≥ bestDay ÷ 40% | Shown live on the dashboard as the effective target |
| Close to pass | The phase completes only with no open position and no order that adds exposure. | positions = 0 | — |
| Time limit | None. Take the time you need. | — | — |
| Inactivity | An account with no fill for 30 days ends. | daysSinceLastFill < 30 | — |
02Funded (simulated)
| Rule | What it means | Formula | 10K account |
|---|---|---|---|
| Daily loss limit | Equity may not fall below today's floor: the higher of balance and equity at 00:00 UTC, minus 4% of the starting balance. Equal is allowed. | equity ≥ anchor − 4% × B0 | $400 of room; a day opening at $10,000 has its floor at $9,600 |
| Max loss limit | Equity may not fall below the starting balance minus 8%. The floor is static: measured from the starting balance, it never moves. | equity ≥ B0 − 8% × B0 | Floor at $9,200 |
| Consistency | Your best day may be at most 40% of the profit in a payout window. If it is larger, the payout waits until it is not. | profit ≥ bestDay ÷ 40% | Shown live on the dashboard as the effective target |
| Time limit | None. Take the time you need. | — | — |
| Inactivity | An account with no fill for 30 days ends. | daysSinceLastFill < 30 | — |
| Profit split | You receive 80% of the simulated profit since the last payout, as a reward. | reward = 80% × (balance − B0) | — |
| Payout cycle | Request every 14 days, the first 14 days after the funded account starts, with all positions closed. | — | — |
| Payout limits | Minimum $50. At most 5% of the starting balance per payout. Lifetime cap $100,000. | — | $500 per payout |
03Definitions
- Starting balance (B0)
- The simulated account size you bought. Every percentage above is a share of it.
- Balance
- B0 plus closed profit and loss, minus trading fees, minus payouts.
- Equity
- Balance plus the open profit or loss of your positions at the composite mark price.
- Composite mark
- The price used for equity and breaches: built from the mark prices of Bybit and Hyperliquid, so one exchange alone cannot fail your account.
- Trading day
- A UTC day, from 00:00 UTC, with at least one fill.
- Best day
- The largest net closed result of one trading day in the window, today included.
04Trading conditions
- Leverage is capped at 5x on majors, 3x on mid caps and 2x on others, or the symbol's own cap if lower.
- Fees: 0.05% of notional for taker fills, 0.02% for maker fills.
- Market orders fill against the live Bybit order book, level by level. The walk stops at 100 basis points from the best price; any remainder is cancelled.
- One-way positions: an order in the other direction reduces, closes or flips the position.
- Rewards on the funded account are paid in bitcoin, and the evaluation fee is refunded with the first one.
05Prohibited strategies
- Hedging across accounts
- Holding opposite positions in the same symbol on two accounts at the same time, yours or someone else’s.
- Copy trading between people
- Different people placing the same trades on their accounts at the same moment, by signal or by software.
- Latency arbitrage
- Trading on a delayed or stale price in the simulation to capture a move that already happened on the exchange.
- Multiple identities
- Opening or running accounts under someone else’s name or with several identities.
- Abusing the daily reset
- Closing just before 00:00 UTC and reopening the same position just after, to move the daily floor.
Automated checks only flag trades; a person reviews every flag against the evidence. Outcomes are, in order of severity: no action, a warning, excluding the flagged trades from a payout, or rejecting the payout and closing the account. You are told the outcome and the rule it rests on.
06Data-fault protections
| Symbol state | When | What you can do | Breaches |
|---|---|---|---|
| Normal | Both venues are fresh and agree | Trade normally | Evaluated on the composite mark |
| Degraded | One venue is missing, or the two disagree | Reduce or close only | Go to review instead of failing the account |
| Paused | No fresh price from any venue | Cancel orders; trading resumes with fresh prices | Not evaluated for that symbol |
Market orders are also refused when the Bybit book drifts too far from the composite mark. If an unusual number of accounts breach on the same symbol at once, new breaches on it go to review until a person confirms the prices. Every breach report stores the composite mark, each venue's price, your equity, the floor and the positions at that moment.
07Rule changes
Rules on your account never change against you after purchase.
A new ruleset version applies to new purchases only. A change in your favour may be applied to existing accounts; when it is, you are told, and the account log records it.
